From the Shut Your Aperture archive (2014): the original editing video is not available through its YouTube address in our check. The photograph and exposure settings remain, but this page should not promise a working video tutorial.

Dramatic Color in a Sunset Photograph

The original post showed a sunset photograph of a ship at port. Its photographer reported shooting handheld at 1/200 second, f/2.8 and ISO 500 with a 70–200mm lens. Those are the settings given for this one image, not a recipe that works in every light.

RAW files can give editors more latitude to adjust color and exposure, but the result also depends on light, composition and the edit. For background, see the site’s ISO chart and aperture chart. The old embedded editing video could not be confirmed and is not presented as playable.
