This was part of a commercial shoot as commissioned by my fashion designer friends from ILAN in Cape Town, but every time I go back to it, I find myself marvelling at the majesty of the place I call home.

One of my favourite places in South Africa is this rugged and unforgiving Overberg area, in my opinion the real reason the Cape Peninsula is named the Cape of Storms. It’s the perfect marriage of mountains, clouds, wind, ocean, fynbos, rugged boulders and white sands – the area from Gordon’s Bay to Hermanus is truly an example of the elements’ best work.

This was shot with natural light, with my 5D Mark II and Canon 24-70 f2.8.
