Pin up posters by Marija Piroski
This photo series was created in cooperation with the young pianist Catherine Rankovic and the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade, Serbia. I found inspiration in old pin up posters their lightness, the colorful coquetry and clear visibility. In the process I have tried to achieve the effect of authentic pin up posters of the 40s and 50s of the last century in what helped me a lot museum exhibits that we used during shooting. Charismatic Catherine I chose because of her personality, which in many ways reflects the time that I tried to re-capture in a new light. Still I’ve tried to preserve the traditional characteristics of the pin up.
