Through this work I explore the idea of self as a fragmented and unstable construction. The fragmented self, to me is shaped by feelings, spaces we find ourselves in, events and moments we experience and interactions with others. All these fragments frozen into one frame compiles one’s ‘self’. The images in this series are captured over time as I come across experiences that shape my image of ‘self’, and would mainly be classified as documentary photography. It is through my photographic documentation of populated and sometimes abandoned spaces, that I try to form a sense of cohesion by identifying somewhat of a pattern or motif.

Just as the aspects of one’s ‘self’ the images vary broadly from very structured reflections of cityscapes to spiritual experiences. It is these different and widely varying emotions, feelings and experiences that form our ‘self’ that I aim to represent
in my images.
