Panasonic Lumix S5 II wedding settings should be tested for the people and light you will actually photograph. A quiet ceremony, a dim reception and a fast procession need different shutter and focus choices. Build the workflow before the event rather than relying on one chart. These are manual-backed suggestions, not a claim that we field-tested this body at a wedding.

- Autofocus: Select continuous AF for people moving toward or across the camera. Panasonic’s S5 II instructions document AF modes and detection options. Check that the intended face stays selected; if not, change the AF area or reacquire.
- Shutter: Try around 1/250 second for people walking, then adapt to movement and light. A slower shutter may show a dance deliberately; a faster one can freeze it. Test shutter mode under artificial lights for banding or distortion.
- Aperture and ISO: Use enough depth for the people in the frame, then let ISO rise when needed to protect shutter speed. Review high-ISO files at the intended output size instead of declaring one number always clean.
- Cards: The S5 II has two card slots. Panasonic’s instructions identify the slot arrangement; choose a recording method that fits the job and verify actual files from both cards before relying on redundancy.
- Color: Check mixed-light white balance and your RAW/JPEG workflow in the venue. A profile chosen for daylight may not suit colored reception lighting.
Make the test realistic
Use the lens and cards you plan to carry. Photograph a person walking in dim light, review focus and motion, and transfer test files from each card. Charge spare batteries and plan a second working camera when the job requires it. No settings chart can replace this end-to-end rehearsal.
