Moth Photographs by Ed Marshall

Moths by Ed Marshall

“In the Spring of 2014, I was awarded a photography internship that was offered through the young conservationist network known as “A Focus On Nature”. I would be the lucky individual who would spend 2 months working alongside the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust, capturing photographs of the wildlife, landscapes and conservation work in and around the Isles of Scilly. During my time there, I began a personal project of photographing the many different species of moths that I encountered, in order to produce images that would be suitable for larger design work both for the trust and myself. I did this by primarily photographing the different species against a white background as seen here, though I did also indulge in other aspects of photographing wildlife in a make-shift studio environment by capturing images on a black background. I enjoy this type of photography, and like to take time over my images, working with light in order to achieve the desired affect. I hope you enjoy them too!”

The original artist portfolio no longer resolves. His 2014 gallery is preserved below.
