On November 14, 1966, Neil Leifer photographed Muhammad Ali and Cleveland Williams from above the ring at Houston’s Astrodome. Leifer wired a remotely triggered camera to a lighting rig and released its shutter from ringside. In a later interview with Amateur Photographer, he said the image was not the final knockout, correcting a common retelling. Leifer also called it the only picture of his that he would not change.
