The Black Widow by Zarko Ivetic

The Black Widow by Zarko Ivetic

The idea behind this photo series came from the animal kingdom. More specific the widow spider.

This spider is feared and notorious because of its venom and sexual behavior. Sexual cannibalism, is a behavior in which the female eats the male after mating. Black widows are solitary year-round except during this most violent mating ritual.

So with this knowledge, I wanted to personify this spider in a fashion photo shoot. Where I would emphasize on her loneliness as well as her feared and calculated behavior. Zorko tells ShutYourAperture.
