Captured over a period of four months in the late summer and early fall of 2013, the Coastal Florida Series encompasses the vast circumference of the state Henthorne calls home.
Henthorne looked forward to shooting this series for many years since Florida has some of the most perfect summer cloud formations that he has seen in his travels. Those “white puffies”, as Henthorne likes to call them, moving along gracefully with the ever-present ocean breeze combined with the backdrop of deep azure skies makes for the signature Henthorne dramatic shot.
Having lived in Florida for over 20 years, Henthorne assumed he had seen most of the state, but it was his first time to visit some of the remote locations. He was quite awestruck at the diversity between the northern coastal areas and the tropical southern part of the state.
It was a journey that started in the Panhandle with shots continuing all the way to the Florida Keys and then out to the Dry Tortugas.
