The Osmo system from DJI combines the Zenmuse X3 camera/gimbal with a detachable handle, bringing the benefits of stabilized 4K shooting to a handheld form factor. The camera features a 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor that enables up to full DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) video recording at 24 or 25p as well as 12MP photo capability. Basic controls for the camera and gimbal are provided on the handle itself, including a joystick for manual pan and tilt. For monitoring and more advanced operation, there is a Wi-Fi link allowing Osmo to be tethered to a mobile device running the DJI GO iOS app. An included mobile device holder effectively turns your smartphone into an on-board monitor. The Wi-Fi features a range of up to 85′, so you can operate the camera and gimbal remotely as well. You can purchase here for only $649.00
Ergonomic Handle
Providing a grip for easy handheld operation, the handle incorporates a joystick for panning and tilting the gimbal. There is also record start/stop button and a shutter button, putting the essential controls right at your fingertips. A trigger allows you to toggle modes. The camera/gimbal assembly can detach from the handle for storage or use in other applications
DJI GO App
Remotely operate the gimbal and view a live feed using the GO App for iOS. A Wi-Fi link in the camera allows you to tether your mobile device, and supports a range of up to 85′. In addition to basic operation, the app allows you to change camera settings and access advanced features
Detachable Mobile Device Holder
A rosette attachment allows you to connect the included mobile device holder. This enables you to use your smartphone as a monitor to view a live image – streamed via Wi-Fi – from the camera. It can be rotated to achieve an optimal viewing angle. The mobile device holder disconnects so that you can use Osmo with other mounting accessories, such as the extension rod
3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer
The camera system incorporates three motors which serve to stabilize the camera as well as move it manually in relation to the handle. Using the handle’s joystick or the app, it can be panned over a 320° range, tilt down 35°, and up 135°. It can pan or tilt at a rate of up to 120° per second
Panorama Mode
The Automatic Panorama mode is designed to make shooting 360° panoramas as seamless as possble. Just hold the Osmo up above your head and tap a button. The camera will rotate, capturing images as it goes while staying completely level
Time-Lapse Recording
Osmo simplifies recording the passage of time. Whether standing still for a stationary timelapse, or moving through your world for a hyperlapse, you can create smooth videos automatically and without a tripod
Tripod-Free Long Exposures
Take sharp long exposure shots even without a tripod. The stabilization system in the Osmo keeps the camera almost totally still so you can freehand capture stills of up to 2 seconds. With practice, you may be able to achieve even longer shots
