My series is about “Bruges Ommeland”, this is the name of a large region in West – Flanders, Belgium. I focus on this area because I go out with my bike every time, so this way I do not pollute nature for my amusement.

Bruges Ommeland has a wide variety of landscapes and cultural elements, alot of those elements dating back to Medieval times, creating unique atmospheres of nostalgia. I try to include these elements in my landscape photographs.
I only shoot at sunrise or sunset to get the most out of the images. I love these times. Its so fascinating to see the planet waking up or see it going to sleep. The change in colors and tints is always so intruiging ! Also it is only during these moments that the lights are sublimal for photography, so that’s when i shoot.” Says Bart.
