Cinque Terre, Italy – one of the most colorful places I’ve ever visited. It’s a place where I would like to live when I will retire. I was there twice and I will go again and again and again.
This little piece of medieval heaven is included in Unesco World Heritage since 1997. The oldest village is Monterosso and was founded in AD 643.
Once peaceful fishing villages whose clever residents even managed to devise a way to grow wine grapes on almost vertical slopes, the Cinque Terre now relies almost entirely on tourism.
