This was shot with a Nikon d-300s and a 50mm lens. I had the location in mind, and we had to hike in about a half mile until I found the exact right place on the tracks. The pool of light was what attracted me to this specific spot…. we just had to wait for it to fade in and we had this glorious sunlight spotlight. The girls were cold, but were champs- they worked hard to get good images.

Once here, we shot a series of posed pictures, with a few different lenses, and of two different models. I got this at the end of the shoot, when Annabella was coming out of the more posed images, and not really thinking about taking pictures or posing (or, more likely, just thinking about wrapping herself in a warm blanket!). I liked the moodiness of the picture, and worked with it until the final image emerged.
